Introduction

Remember is a private reflection tool that lets you acknowledge the people, places, and moments that still cross your mind. This page explains how Remember handles the information you enter when you use it.

Remember is operated as a Toolsyte product. We have designed this product so that your personal reflections never reach our servers. This policy describes that design honestly, including its limitations.

What We Collect

Nothing is collected on our servers. When you write an entry in Remember, the content of that entry — the person or thing you are thinking about, your mood, and any notes you add — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no access to it.

We do not use cookies for tracking purposes in this version of the product. We do not collect analytics. We do not log IP addresses tied to your entries.

How Data Is Stored

Remember uses a browser technology called localStorage. This is a small area of persistent storage built into your web browser, held on the device you are using. Think of it as a private notebook inside the browser itself — separate from the website's servers.

Each memory record you create is saved as a structured JSON object inside that storage area. The data includes the subject label, subject type, mood, note text, and the date and time you created the entry.

How your entries are held

Your entries are stored in this browser and are not sent to our servers.

Entries may be accessible to someone who has access to the same browser or device.

Clearing site data may permanently remove your entries.

Entries do not automatically transfer to another device.

Browser Storage Details

The following behaviours are important to understand about how browsers handle localStorage:

  • Private-browsing data may disappear when the session closes.
  • Browser synchronisation behaviour may depend on your browser settings.
  • Clearing site data may permanently remove your entries.
  • Entries do not automatically transfer to another device.
  • Entries may be accessible to someone who has access to the same browser or device.
⚠
Shared devices Avoid entering information you would not want stored on this device. If you use a shared or public computer, consider clearing site data when you are done.

Data You Control

Because all data is stored locally, you are in complete control of it. You can:

  • Export all your entries as a JSON file at any time from the Manage Data page.
  • Delete individual entries from the History page.
  • Delete all entries at once from the Manage Data page.
  • Clear all site data via your browser's privacy settings.

Because we do not hold your data on our servers, we cannot recover entries on your behalf and cannot be asked to delete them — they exist only where your browser holds them.

Analytics

Remember does not use any third-party analytics in this version of the product. We do not load tracking scripts, we do not collect page-view data from your sessions, and we do not share any information with advertising networks.

If analytics are introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated before that change takes effect.
